'95 M2 ECU (non-Cali) into '93 (euro FD)

Hmm... I got a question:

If I get an ECU from non-Cali '95, those cars don't have an EGR anymore, and put it into my FD, there shouldn't be any check-engine-light problems, right ? And I can plumb my EGR (not sure if I have it, gotta check it out).

That should work, no ?

Actually the '95 FD non-Cali has the EGR valve. It also has the M2 ECU, which I don't know if it will work in euro FD '93, without EGR.

Any thought ?
