Just wondering why the 95 FD is so hard to find? I've been looking around on cars.com and finding a 95 is damn near impossible. Were there only a fraction of these made compared to the 93's and 94's?

There were only ~500 '95s brought in. Take away those that were wrecked, parted out, or converted to race cars over the past 9 years, and you don't have a lot of them left over today.
they are out there, only thing is that they do cost more since owners know tht was the last year it was made or sold in the U.S....but sometimes there are some that are fairly priced, but there is just no point in waiting for one when you can find a good 93 or 94..

Ya it was a bitch when i was tryign to find mine. I came across the one i have now and decided to buy it. Yes its automatic but whocares its rare and only four other peopel have it (if it isnt crashed ) i could still ebat mustangs and stuff all good.
I have own '93 RX7 and '95 RX7. Sure the '95s are rare, but the build quality and uniqueness goes to the '93 RX7s. They have a better looking interior. Its all the small details. The trim has a nice rubberized coating (I know some people don't like it because they scratch it and it may peel if not taken care of). The '95s has a cheap shiny ABS plastic trim. The '93 RX7s has nicer gauges (tick marks all the way to redline), the '95 RX7s don't have these tick marks it is just one red tick and a blank spot for 500rpm before it gets to redline. Even on the A/C controls the temperature setting shows solid colors instead of nice tick marks. Even the shifter got cheaper in '95 they were non-preforated.
The '93 RX7 has all this uniqueness! It was only on the RX7 for one year, after that Mazda went cheap for '94-'95 with the interior trim, cheaper gauges, etc.
The '95 does benefit from dual airbags for safety nuts. The glovebox is also a bit bigger, but not substantially bigger. Suspension was softened for those who aren't hardcore! hehe
Gauge Differences ('93 has tick marks and '95 does not)

A/C Control Differences ('93 has tick marks and '95 does not)
Also notice how the plastic trim on the '93 looks nicer and doesn't have that cheap grainy ABS look to it. The '93 has a much nicer smooth flat black look to it.

Youre not gaining anything on switching to a 95 model other than passenger airbags and the rarity. The other differences are subtle and any claim that the 94-95s are more reliable than the 93 because of first year is pretty much a moot point

Yeah, God knows I wanted even more tick marks on my gauges to junk them up. You '93 owners are so lucky.
Yes, yes he is.

Thank god I have more tick marks on my gauges!! I really did not want a 94 or a 95, I dont think I could handle the lack of tick marks!
Jim, I feel your pain on that 95 model, I dont know how you do it

I owned both a '93 & '95 at the same time so I know which one I like more. Why not say you like the fact that your shifter isn't preforated anymore, how smoother is cleaner. More details equal more time and money involved in the making of it. If you don't understand attention to detail than you are probably the type that buys your loved one a diamond with flaws or one that is yellow. The '99 Spec don't even have the chrome trim rings around the gauages anymore. I wasn't here to be rude, but you guys asked for it (calling names like a immature kid). Did I knock you off your '95 pedastal?
