I noticed that and the front bumper being a different shade of silver in the sunlight. Also i noticed that the engine bay was a little dirty for a garage kept FD. I mean if they wanted it to be a collectors item, why didn't they keep the thing clean? Also, it's just as bad to let an engine sit with no use than to run on hard all the time. just my $.02

i'm sorry, but that just destroyed the car for me. anyone who has to say that to sell the car is worthless.

 

I bought a babied late 93 production R1 off of Ebay with 14K miles. It had an oil change every 3 months, not 1 stone chip or dent, smelled and looked new in the inside. Even had 1/2 the wear left on the original tires. I payed 14,500 for it and that included all taxes and such. The owner just wanted to sell the thing to buy a SUV. I offered cash NOW and they pulled the ad before it climbed over $2,500. I made the offer within the first hour of the ad being posted. Flew out the next week with a price line ticket for $105 and drove it back. I picked up my other 2 FD's with my truck and autotransport but I wanted to drive this car. No regrets. I have put about 1K miles on the car since I bought it because I have another one I have mods done to. There are deals out there if you look long enough and wave cash at the seller.

 

yea that fast and the furious comment is for all the really rich kids who dont know anything about cars and will buy it just becuase of the mentioned quote....im sure someone will believe it too

 

Save your cash for a 4th generation RX-7 in 2004/5, if you want an FD bad you can find several nice ones with under 70k miles for sale under 20k floating around the internet.

For 35k you can buy and mod an RX-7 and still have gas money. Talking new paint, seats and interior too.

that is just way to much for this car.

Jordan, are you aware that there were only 62 black 1995 PEP's imported (didn't have the touring package in 1995)? Good luck finding one. I found a VR 1995 PEP, not my first color choice but it is still a beautiful car. Don't hold out for a certain color if you want a 1995.

 

I can't justify spending that kind of cash on that car. Really, unless you are rich off your *** and want a collectors item you will never use, or you are even richer and you use it for daily driver, it's just not worth it.

 

I found my brilliant black 95 PEP in the town I was actually living in at the time. 9,600 miles on the odometer, written maintenance record, and owned by an older gentleman with numerous other sports cars. Traded it in to the local Mazda dealership (where it was bought originally) for a Cadillac Escalade. His son was a salesman at the dealership. They were asking bluebook as banks would not give loans for a car priced over bluebook. Luckily I saw it first. They stated that if I had not purchased it, a guy from California was willing to put a $5K deposit on his credit card and fly out to purchase the car sight unseen. There was a line approximately 15 people deep to purchase it after him. I'm sure Mazda wished the demand was that high when these cars were languishing on the showroom floor.

Although the third gen will be a future collectible, it'll be quite some time before it's "time" comes around. Until then, it's lots of expensive maintenance. Really a rich man's game. I'm willing to bet there aren't 20 cars in the U.S. such as this from ANY of the three years they were brought over here. The only potential snag in it's future value is the fact that Japan kept making them until this year. Hopefully some rich and committed will purchase and preserve this car!

MmmMm maybe they sold it??? But I doubt the person that bought it paided 35K for that.. Did someone ever run a carfax on that thing?? The different color engine bay and front bumper cover raised a few questions in my head...

 

Well, I know the FD that has probably the lowest miles ever, somewhere between 300-400 miles. I've seen it and know where's it at.
