Yup yup I saw that on eBay too. Keep thinking about if it's really worth that price. Okay let's assume that it had 0 miles and was sitting in storage for 7 years. You have 2 options...
A) Would the price be the same as if it were sold new in '95? or...
B) Would it still depreciate in value somewhat due to it being an older year car?

I've always wondered this and if I were to go with the latter and choose B, I wouldn't pay a penny more than $32K or so. Just wondering your guy's insight.

WTF??!? Your trying to apply logic to a situation that defies it!

We're talking about a goddamn '95 Silver 5spd FD with 5500 original miles!

Thats like asking your 6 year old daughter the contemplate the ramifications of asking Santa for a pony.

I dunno about u guys but im searching for any vital organs / relatives I dont need to scape up the ..........what a minute (lightbulb over head)

If I can get everyone registered on the forum to donate just $3 to the unixpilot "save a 7 foundation", I can pull this off!

Thats right folks, $3 bucks, the cost of a Taco bell meal, to help a fellow rotorite out.

Act now, just 3 easy payments of $1

Mail your payments to:

Come back down to earth you guys. Has anyone noticed that as of this writing there isn't one single bid on the car?

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe it's overpriced?

It's nice that the miles are friggin low, but for $35K??!!! C'MON!!
I don't think it's worth $35K. It's a 7 year old car, lot's of depreciation.
$35K can buy a very nice new car or 2 decent new cars.
RX7's are nice and rare, but this guy is asking too much. He needs to lower the price to like around $25K.
Oh well, I'm pretty sure someone is going to buy it. I guess if you want something that much, you pay for it. Everyone has their own opinion on something's value.

I would pay $25K in a heartbeat... Even though it is a PEP, and I really have my heart set on a R2, that one is just too good to pass up...

It's a really nice car, I guess the car has to be sitting in a showroom for long. If I can have that amount of money easily, damn, I will buy it right now.

Still searching for a low-mileage 95 black touring.....

Blue Book value

35k is way high

Blue Book private is 20.5 k
and trade in 17k
all with miles adjusted to 5000

The same car private sale with 60k miles is: 20k
with 100k miles: 16k

That does not make any sense! $500 for 55k miles????

Yes, this car is overpriced. A careful look at the pics will reveal that it has aged quite a bit. Look at the hoses and plastic/rubber in the engine bay. This car will require a considerable amount of dollars to repair and replace seals, hoses, etc. My car sat for a year and a half (drove it around the block and started it, etc.) and many of the hoses deteriorated. I had to replace the CV boots, diff gaskets, rear main seal, and a bunch of other sh*t due to improper or inadequate lubrication/use.

And even at $35K it's already depreciated quite a bit. That is, don't forget to adjust for inflation. A $35,000 car in 2002 would be worth $29,000 in 1995 dollars.

I bought my 95 PEP 18 months ago for $24,500.

Oh yea did I mention mine only had 3,964 miles. It was basically in the same situation as this ebay car, sitting around on display for people to drool over.

I really wasnt looking for a car with that low of miles but it was around market price at the time and I took it. It makes me sad to think how many miles I've put on it since, I wish I could have afforded to just let it sit around and drive it a couple times a year but I cant. I have to use it as my daily driver. At least I still keep it in mint condition so it pretty much is in the same shape now as then. I'm fixing to clean the underside real good as soon as the weather warms up in a few weeks.

Later,
STEPHEN

yes I think that 35 is to high, but I think I would pay 30 for it. You would have to look at a car like this as an investment. If you have the car for 25 years it will probably be worth 50 or 60 grand. I have forgotten the numbers but wasn't there only like 500 silverstone in 95. I might be wrong but if thats true this car will be worth a pretty penny in the years to come. I thought that rx-7s where goign up in value.

anyone notice as well that the front bumper is of a completely different color? I know they fade over time but that is too much of a difference. Looks like the front bumper's been replaced. I wonder why.

That sounds ominous. Do you know something we don't know?
Is an earthquake forthcoming ? Jesus comin' back ? Is Osama bin Laden going to attack all the FD's ? Please tell us, oh Nostrodamus.

look at the engine bay photo at the bottom of the page.. how come the engine bay is painted white? i thought if silver is the original color the engine bay would be silver too.. maybe its the sunlight or my bad vision.. just a thought
