TX 94RX PFC Won't Start, I need some advice

Dear Distinguished RX7 Aficionados:
94 RX7 w/ PFC, engine from 2001 RotaryPerformance, wouldn't start one day. Just spins. Did a deflooding procedure a week later...plugs seemed dry actually. New plugs installed at that point, with a little ATF first. Checked spark and it was great. Looked under Diagnostics and jumped F/P and GND....heard a click from fuses (under EGI), but I don't think the fuel pump was going (no vibration or noise). Crawled under car while assistant jumped F/P and GND....I touched the 3 pipes from the top of the gas tank, but no vibration either. [PFC image attached]

That's strange... mine is doing the same thing....

I'm going to check plugs first. My Battery is dead so I've been running it off a charger so I'm going to charge the battery first and see what is going on from there.

No, as far as I know it is a stock fuel pump set up. Can someone help me trouble shoot the fuel system? Where to start? Thanks so much in advance for any help that you can provide.

Check the ground connector for continuity. Second get a test light and run a hot line from the battery to the thick power cable going to the fuel pump. Doing the direct wire trick will see if you have a relay or other electrical issue.

when you say it doesn't start... does it crank? With the key in the on position (but not turn forward to start the car) can you hear any sounds from the fuel pump? What about when cranking?

Also check the fuses. There's a Fuel Pump fuse.

finally, does the PFC stay light up when you are cranking?

Quick question - Is the ground connector you mention above the "gnd" under the diagnostic plastic lid?

...it does crank well. No sounds from the fuel pump during "on", and can't here much when cranking (besides the actual cranking). I'll check the Fuel Pump fuse (but doesn't the f/p to ground jump actually bypass that?). PFC stays lit up when cranking....SO, does this help you help me?

Unhappy Mono4Lamar - low voltage at fuel pump?

Thanks for the advice....I finally had some time for tinkering. I looked it up and the "hot wire is supposed to be the pink and white one, so I ran a wire from the battery to the trunk, tested the wire on a random screw and it was 12V on my multimeter. I was going to just push it past the little white connector around the white/pink wire, but there was no room...I am sure for safety reasons they have this one pretty tight with no metal exposing. So I removed the white connector and connected the 12V test wire to the connector where the white/pink connected. There was no sound and the multimeter only read 1V or so. Two of the other 4 connectors showed 12V...no sounds of a pump going either. Does the 1V reading mean that the white connector has to be connected together to achieve ground? If so, how do I power up the fuel pump without cutting a wire?!? Thanks in advance for any help Mono4Lamar!

Red face Start - then No Start ... any sage advice

So I got the Rotary Performance Fuel Pump...I dropped in as per instructions (except it includes an extra ground wire that I didn't use)... and the car fired right up. Was real excited that I diagnosed it right! I drove it for about 20 minutes and the parked it again. The next morning it wouldn't start again. I checked spark again and it's good. It turns over as if the battery and compression are good. I'm sure someone can give me some sage advice as to what may be the new problem....should I just remove the pump and wiggle all the wires?

I would install that fuel pump properly first before you make yourself nuts.

If it came with an extra ground wire, its there for a reason, install it.

fuel pump connector is bad....is there a fix?

need more advice...
got 12 volts after jumpwire, at the connector. took pump out and applied 12 volts too it and it spun happily. checked for continuity outside gas tank, on the white connector...no continuity on the pump +/- connections. took pump out, and checked the top of the fuel pump....yes continuity there. checked from the pump (-) to the outside gas tank...yes continuity there. checked the (+) side to the outside gas tank connector...NO CONTINUITY! I poked a needle end multimeter into the bottom side of the plate where the blue wire goes in....yes continuity to the fuel pump (+) terminal and the (-) one, but NOT to the outside connector. the same procedure on (-) black wire resulted in BEEP....yes continuity.

Conclusion is the connector past the blue wire is faulty some how....can anyone suggest any solution or further work up??!!??

Thanks! Peter
