94 white w/red int??????

I have searched over and over but can not find a picture of a chaste white 7 w/red interior. I am going next weekend to look at one and I was wondering if this was a stock interior on the 94 touring? I am just kind of curious if the owner is honest or not and what to expect when I get there. Thanks ahead of time for any help you guys can give me.

Yes they came that way, but pretty rare. I personally like it.

Before the white on red FD that was up on Ebay a week or so ago, I had never heard of such a color combination. There's silver on red, black on red...and APPARENTLY white on red. To date, it's the only one I've ever heard of, which makes me lean to him swapping the interior. If it was an available combo, I'm sure we would have heard of another one like it? Has anyone seen one before?

Red interiors were imported in 1993 and half of 1994. White was not offered in 1993 so... I have been told the only red interiors were in black and silver cars.

You can plug a VIN into one of Mazda USA's webpages and it will tell you the original interior and exterior colors. I suggest you try it and see what comes up. I think white came with tan or black interiors only.

You could get red interior with silver and black in 93. In 94 you could get red interior with silver and white. This information courtesy of my 93 & 94 color brochures.

I have learned that the 94's red interior was different than the 93's (the differences being that in 93 the carpet was black, the door panels were red w/black inserts, and the seatbelts and bins were red, vs. in 94 everything was black except the seats and the carpet)

IIRC, white + red started in late 94 in Japan - so if they used that combo as an export to the US, would have to have been one of the last (wouldn't it?)

I bet it looks nice if the seats are in good condition. The only problem i see with all the red interior cars i have seen is they all look near brown/maroon rather then the nice bright red I always see in pics.

Looks like a Franken-7 to me. Notice the different carpet colors and the aftermarket floor mats? My guess is a flood.

This car is at least a partial swap. In 94 they only colored the seats and carpeting while leaving the doors and bins black.

no way , that white FD in the previous listed auction is a interior swap. EVERY 1994 and 1995 RX-7 imported HAD BLACK DOOR PANELS and black bins. That is a swap from a 93.

Thanks to everyone who has responded! Does Salamander or anyone else have the site to plug in the VIN and check the original equipment? I checked all over MazdaUSA.com and saw nowhere to check a VIN??? Thanks again and would still love pics of one if anyone has one!

yes i would like to know the address of the vin website too

and a petty detail, does anyone know the deal w/ the passenger side seatbelt buckles? it seems that at least 93 FDs have this ugly big buckle on the passenger side that looks like it came from a buick or something. mine's a 93 and it's like that, while the driver side is just a normal looking one. this 94 is like that too, while the later FDs seem to not have this

Did you not read my post. I witness a purchase of a white FD in 94 with red interior, and no the interior was not after market or switch from another car.
