Hey I have a 94 5 speed tranny and I also have the vin # of the car it came out from, Anyhow I need to check to see if the 5 gear synchro was replaced by the dealer or the 94 came from factory with recall done already? What site can I go and punch in the vin and I can get the results? Help please

 

i don't know a site but why don't you conntact your local dealer to verify that?

 

It wasn't a recall item, so they won't know. You would have to be asking the dealership that did the service, and hope they're feeling nice to give you the info since it's inquiring about another owner's account (I know it sound silly, but they might not give it to you).

I suggest replacing it while it's out - only a 2 hour job and maybe $120 to do the shifter select spindle, 5th synchro, and replaced the mainshaft locknut.
