94 stock up grade
94 stock up grade
I've got a 94 twin turbo automatic that I bought 2 years that was bone stock. I have made upgrades and I need to replace the shocks, cooling system, and air flow system. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should buy. My car is pretty much a crusier.
1) Shocks / struts: A good quality ride but not coil overs.
2) Cooling Sytem
3) Air flow system
Thanks

My dad runs tokicos and suspension specialities springs (both from rx7.com) and has been very happy with their performance.
Cooling system, Fluidyne and either an aluminum AST or delete it altogether.
Air flow system? assuming I understand you correctly, I recommend a ceramic coated downpipe and an apexi intake.

Thats a pretty lame suggestion. Did you not read what he was asking for in his initial post? I would assume that you have never driven an automatic FD before or else you would have experienced how much fun the car can be no matter what transmission is in it.
Dewey... As far as cooling goes, I'm not sure about whether Fluidyne makes an Automatic compatible radiator. If they do, then go for it; Fluidyne makes some awesome radiators. You just have to figure out whether you are going to go with a radiator that has the transmission cooler lines running through it or whether you want to get a non-automatic compatible radiator and have to run an external tranny cooler. Personally, I'm going to go for a Mazda Competition Radiator since they make a radiator that has connections for the stock auto trans. cooler. I can't recall if thats the exact name? I know it's got Mazda and Radiator in it. ha ha... As Goodfella said earlier, get an aluminum AST or remove it. A DP is very important as well as it makes the Automatic a bit more responsive. I'm running an SR Motorsports cold air induction box for the intake currently. I've had the Greddy Airinx kit in the past and it does the job just like the rest of the open filter type intakes I guess.

I had an auto FD and in no way was it a slouch in the fun to drive department. As for the radiator and I'll need some one else with an auto to confirm but I believe it uses the same radiator as a manual,as there is an oil cooler on the passenger side for the transmission.

I use the fluidyne radiator for the man trans car it works fine . just bypass the lines going to the radiator and install an extra trans cooler if you want. mine runs fine without it . the lines going to the radiator act as a oil warmer not a cooler. so its not going to hert anything in the transmission. run synthetic oil and your good to go.

Thanks Everyone!!
Thanks everyone for the feedback and helping a rookie!! I will probably leave it as an automatic cause it's pretty fast and it is a good rush when step on the gas, turbos kick in, and you leave the clown who is tail gating in the dust. I will post pictures of my car when I get it completed.
If you have any more suggestions, I am still open for any.
