94 front/rear wheelbearing

Is there a guide out there somewhere on how to do front/rear wheel bearings on the fd?

As far as I know the entire hub must be replaced. I'm getting ready to replace my front right hub as soon as I find a 35mm socket. New Timken hubs are around $80 at Advance Auto.

The factory Service manual goes thru the process. Download it.

The rears require pulling the hub off to remove it. This can be fun on cars that are now15 years old.

Fronts are way easier. Mazdatrix.com has a how yo on the FC front wheel bearings. did not see one on the FD

BTW: The SEARCH function at the top is not just for looks. 1 minute search for rear bearing replacement yielded this gem from DamonB.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ng+replacement

AND the front replacement of the assembly. About 100 each side for the fronts.

Rear bearings are pricey but they are massive beefy things.

Just make sure you have a bearing puller!
I havent ever done it on an FD, but would assume its similar to most cars.

Im replacing the entire hub/bearing assembly. Seems easier and cost effective.

Only 66 bucks on ebay for a timken.

Just wanna buy the correct socket for it.

It's a 35. I have a 36 and it is just a wee bit too big but I think it may work.

I know the rears aren't available from mazda as a unit, you have to buy the bearing separately. Real PITA job to do. The fronts come pressed into the hub already and are a joy to swap out, relatively speaking
