pick whatever you want.. as long as you have another car to use.

i had another car + a 600 F3.. then added a 94 RX7.. sold the 600 F3.. got rid of the RX7.. because now i want to get a bike again. its all personall opinion but i miss a bike more.

you need another car because a bike sucks during the rain.. and getting groceries.. the RX7 isnt really hot in luggage space anyways.. and most of the time.. the RX7 is getting worked on.. dont forget its a 8-10 year old car.

YOOOOO KENT!!!! i love your magaIne.. just bought your 600 comparo mag... are you guys having any issues with the 03 R6? the old one had some 2nd gear problems.. just wondering how the new gear box is working out.

Thanx for the props on the mag. R6 is doing fine so far. Runs great w/Graves exhaust, got rid of the midrange dip at 8500 rpm.

When you're talking about peak power at 12,750 rpm, then 8500 is midrange...
Pretty amazing what the latest sportbikes-- especially the 600s, which is kind of what the FD is to the sportscar world, a machine that doesn't produce the most power, but can easily embarass bigger, more powerful machines with the right pilot-- can do these days. A top 600 can do mid-10s in the quarter, top out at 158 mph (and do it in half the time/distance it takes the vast majority of cars capable of that speed), and get 40 mpg at the same time.

I never, ever averaged more then 30mpg on my '99 CBR900 hehe.

Back on the subject of comparing a R6 to a FD, a bit of how much you get out of each can also depend on who you have to enjoy it with. Forums and people here are great, but the folks local to you that you can go on cruises/attend events with is what will make it that much better.

Do you have a decent RX7 community (actually, does not even have to be rotorheads, but car enthusiasts in general) or an organized group of sport bike enthusiasts local to you?

One of the reason I sold my last bike (had three, including '89 600 Ninja, '93 GSX-R750, and '99 CBR900) is that my job has me on-call on the weekends - killing any possiblity of trips to the canyon roads in Austin with friends that ride. Really sucks riding by yourself weekdays. When I change jobs, I'm eyeing the R1 myself...

i had only owned one sport bike in my life... it was a yamaha YZF-1000. I feel in love with bikes after that... if i sell my rx7 i would definitely buy the r6 or r1! the feeling you get is like when you first try the rx7...WOW!! I went to the dealer and saw the r6... its a beauty... and those new lights... but im hooked on the R1...

every1 here have their preferences... so its up to you to decide... *wisper* i love my rx7 as well... so save up and buy them both...

good luck

BTW: I vote for a R1 yahama hehe

I'd rather see another bike crashed than another FD. I used to ride back in the ROC and loved it more than anything. You'll be better off working on a bike than the FD. It kinda takes over too much of you. I would much rather be buying bike parts than FD parts, but I'm here now, so crap. Good luck with the bike if you go for one. Even more for the FD. Just take care of both and wear your helmet/seatbelt.
