'94 with 74,000 miles for $7,900?

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/in...neca&cardist=0

My dad used to own a '93, montego blue just like this one but it burnt to a crisp.

That said, I loved it and was supposed to get it when he bought his new car.

Naturally, I still want one. At this price, it seems worth it even if it needs work. I'm wondering why someone would sell a (what seems to be) nice, running, 3rd generation with LOW mileage and a "clean" title for so cheap? Airbags don't work so....I wonder what else is broke....

The Carfax says it has 24 records, what could they be?

Hell...that looks like a great deal! I'd go for it too!
I do wonder if the airbags aren't working because it was in a crash and they got deployed already....if that is the case, I'd be very careful about buying this car.

I'm guessing it's been near totaled before - has to be. I think I might even pay the $20 to get the Carfax.

If you're even remotely considering buying this car, get the carfax, but keep in mind that things CAN be left off a carfax report.

I'd put her up on a lift and check for signs of frame damage, work done to the frame rails... then pop the hood, look in the bay, check for weld work, check along the edges where panels meet, see if the lines line up etc etc. My money is on this thing having been DESTROYED, then straightened out for cheap by the stealer dealer chop shop...
