i just wanted to add as i been reading up a little on the car , driving the car with this problem when the turbos kick in the car puts hard , puts you back in you seat , but just not as far as before . so seems like the turbo's are working , but me what . but the engine sound very ruff , it idles hards , ruff, shaking , starts right up , looking to see about compression check next , thanks
if it's running rough, that could be one of a million things. as mentioned above, it's typically a disconnected map sensor or blown apex seal.
If you're getting power once the turbos spool, maybe it's a turbo precontrol issue. When do the turbos spool for you? you should start seeing some boost almost immediately when you press the pedal, reaching full boost by 3k rpms.

you put you foot into it and you feel the turbo kick in , but like at half speed , like it not all there , does one turbo work at a time . it feel like the turbo's are working . will do a compression check and report findings , compression should be over 60 psi is that right , please get back to me . thank you jim
could it be the air pump , sound like nosie coming from it , ticking , as i read problems with the air pump that people had , the car runs rich , and smokes , could this be the problem , maybe this pump is bad also what are the split air tube that they talk about , thank you guys jim
Making new threads about the same problem and stabbing in the dark is not going to solve the problem.
Compression check:

And check for codes:

A problem with the air pump is unlikely, it wouldn't effect the acceleration.

sorry about the other items , but reading about the air pump that people disconnected , the engine was running ruff, black smoke and running rich . i do have the accerleration there , but it lags , the car will go , but not put you back in your seat like before , what is it , i want my son to learn his car , not just bring it to mazda , thank you all for your help you guys are great , love getting new ideas , someone will get it .
where is the kid in all of this? what has he learned, or better yet earned to be owning this car that was given to him from mommy and daddy? it sounds to me that you are more passionate about the car than he is, which leads me to believe he dosent fully appreciate it. i mean what next, the kid is going to wreck it showing off in the high school parking lot, and more than likely just get newer more$$$ car from you. if you really want to have him "learn" why dont you get rid of the car, and use that money for an education and if he really wants the car make him EARN it like everyone else instead of going through life spoiled.
Between this thread and your other one sounds like you just fouled the plugs and are now running on one rotor. With stock ecu and full exhaust this isnt really uncommon. The stock ecu dumps so much damn fuel on start up when the car has a full exhaust. Im sure the car was started and moved short distances a couple times and this is the result. Check the map sensor, buy new plugs. If it isnt backfiring then it isnt in limp mode, shouldnt be too hard to fix. Unless of course the engine blew.

By the way, I agree with every last drop of your post. However if parents have the money to buy expencive cars for their kids, who am I to tell them not to?
Why do you keep referring to "my son"?
I always see post starting alone the lines of "my brother" or "my mate" or "my neighbour" just got a FD and it has the following problem....
There's no shame in saying "I".

Also, as far as "keeping it to the car", we've already told you what to do, you just aren't listening. you've gotten the best advise you could/are going to get. So stop replying to idiots and go work on your car. Sorry to say, if it's not the MAP sensor, it's not going to be an easy fix, no matter how long you wait for someone new to reply.
