Hmm... that is not even a competition. That t78 will blow about 99.9% of the cars out there away. If the car has all the mods to run a T78 and it is tuned for 17. I heard you could get over 400+rwhp on that setup.

Let's see the stang with all the mods should be around 380+hp, not at the wheel of course. I believe if he wants to even make a competition out of the race, better have about 150+ shots of NOS.

Oh yeah there is a guy name Spoautos that has the BNR stage 3's. Pushing 412rwhp running 17psi. Hmm... he smoked a newer model GT, that has supercharger and I believe NOS. GT was pushing like 425rwhp.

A T-78 car would rape the stang. Read below

I was going down the road a couple weeks ago and I saw this guy pull a U-turn and come after me. He tried to run me from a 3rd gear roll...I gave him the jump. I pulled away fairly easy.
I later found out this was the car while surfing around.

Here is his car.
http://www.steenracing.com/mikebpics.htm

Here are the specs:
Car: 1988 Mustang LX 5.0
Dyno: 426 rwhp
Specs: Stock short block, Edelbrock 6037
heads & Cobra intake, AFM B-2 cam w/ 1.7
rockers, BBK lt headers w/ catted h-pipe,
11 psi Powerdyne s/c, 4 whl disc
brakes, 3.73 gears, Eaton posi
31 spline rear

I am still running the stock twins with my built ported motor and all the bolt-ons.

what do you think it will run?? 01 gt stock will run under 14s.. HE said he raced him before with just intake, and the rx7 had stock turbo setup with 10 psi, the rx7 would jump off the line and stay there.. so the stang is gonna get owned?

a t78 should be able to get low 11s, maybe even 10s...

the stang will go home crying

I never underestimate a Mustang... They are hard to predict. BUT, a T78 RX7 in good running condition is going to be pretty tough to beat.

A T-78 RX-7 that is properly set up at 17# can easily pull 450 RWHP. That thing will KILL that Mustang.

Single Turbo RX-7s are nasty....They are usually about 2,700 lbs (or less) when modded. That Mustang (not including the heavy supercharger) is about 750 lbs heavier (28%), puts out less power, and has a horrible drag coefficient. Its a recipe for a crushing death

Your friend probably run in the mid to high 12's, if he is lucky with his setup, especially without any internals done to the stang, with a supercharger it is not going to do much. Maybe a second or two faster in the 1/4, that is with also a few mods to help the supercharger. A Z06 is rated at 405hp and that is a little higher hp then your friend's setup, since he is only running 8psi. A Superchargers has its limitations from the pullies. A T78 goodness, is got like almost unlimited power. If the guy in the rex gets full boost, say buh bye Rexy.

A 10psi Rex compare to 17psi Rex, is like comparing night and day. Just think 1.0 psi that is fine tuned puts at least 10rwhp per boost.

With my setup, full mods to support my BNR stage 3's. At 11psi, I was pushing 300rwhp with bad ignition. I run 16psi now and it feels like I just add another engine in my car. I'am pushing over 370rwhp and run probably low 11's. And Iam sure the guy with the T78 is pushing well over 400rwhp at 17psi, if it is fine tuned of course. He will probably run mid 11's or high 11's, since it takes more rpm to spool a T78, then it is to spool my setup. Good Luck is all I have to say, Iam hoping the Rex has tuned, if not, he will either blow his engine, or run like crap.
