93 BB Base Half-Bridge GT42R Project PART 3.....

Yea so I just got back home and I didn't drive the 7 back. The first run I was just being easy on her getting everything dialed in and ran a 11.377 @ 131.33 with a 1.874 60'. Then the second run I was going to go all out. On the1st to 2nd shift, I fell out of boost and bogged, but still ran a 11.209 @ 133 with a 1.835 60'. But then all hell broke loose cause at about 137 mph or so I hit the brakes and the pedal hit the floor. I had to use the E-Brake and almost went into the sand pit at the end of the track. Once the car was trailored home we found out what happened. The right rear brake line ruptured and then got caught aroudn the axle, ripping the boot to shreds, and it wrapped aroudn the axle about 3 times. This cause me to lose my brakes and a right rear axle. So I am going to try to fix it by this friday so I can run her one more time before I fly back to FL for the summer. There is still a half tank of C16 in the car so I should be fine.

Actually, it was the hard metal line that ruptured, not the soft line. Check out this wheelie, you really can't tell but I pulled the front left tire off the ground an inch or two.

Bret Kepner says this is your best pass ..............
Phil Hoback, the St. Louisan who now attends college in Florida, returned home for a vacation and pushed his turbocharged ‘93 Mazda RX7 to the new season’s best rotary-powered numbers at a best-ever 11.20/131.93 for fourth position

Going for attempt number 2 tonight at Gateway International Raceway - Midnight Madness. Only thing that sucks is that they don't really prep the track very well for midnight madness. The temps will fall down into the 40s for tonight, so I should make good power!!!
