Arrow 93-95 Rx7 GlowShift’s oil pedestal. Any one using it

Looking to buy an oil pedestal but don't see the reason to buy some expensive oil pedestal like sakebomb when there are cheaper options. I found one on eBay which is made by GlowShift. Any one have experience with them or are running one? Or let me know what other oil pedestal option do I have without braking the bank. Thanks you

I would avoid it. Glowshift makes some pretty crappy stuff in general and this is important enough that I wouldn't want a cheap part.

Also, it's quite possible that this is a universal part and will have some sort of fit problem on the FD.

If you're wanting to tap gauges in, there are other ways. First, oil pressure - you have a stock gauge, if it doesn't work, get a new sender and there you go. For oil temp, you can remove the banjo bolt for the oil cooler line to oil filter pedestal, drill and tap it for 1/8" NPT and you've got a place for a temp sender.

This is also not an oil pedestal, it is an oil pedestal ADAPTER.
It stacks on the existing oil pedestal raising the height, meaning shorter oil filter may be required.

Yup Dale that's the plan to install some gauges. As for the factory oil pressure I hate it just as much as the factory water temp gauge. That's a good idea to tap the banjo bolt. Can you T the banjo bolt to hook a pressure and oil temp gauges. Thank you Dale

As mentioned by other members, too important to cheap out on.

I am very happy with the SBG one:

i used the blackworks racing adapter. it works well with no leaks or issues. it does force you to use the short oil filters though as it presses a taller one right up against the tps. i dont suggest going that route though. my current set up is an aftermarket oil temp in the stock oil pressure location and an aftermarket oil pressure in a AN fitting from the oil pedestal. its a fitting with a spot for a 1/8npt adapter. this way i keep the stock pedestal and can use a taller filter.

FWIW SB or FFE pedestals (not adapters) allow the use of a taller 929 oil filter

Go with SakeBomb or Full Function Engineering. The Glowshift and other similar cheep ones have an extra oring that can be a failure point. They also push the oil filter up higher making it easy to hit and damage the tps. Do it right.

As others have already said, don't use sandwich adapters. They move your oil filter up too high and then it interferes with your TPS, making changes a pain. Replacement pedestals are what you want.

FFE pedestal

I just installed a FFE pedestal and so far haven't had any issues. I did not install my oil pressure gauge onto it, my aftermarket one is in the stock location, due to clearance issues. I don't see how a pressure sender can fit anywhere near there....regardless of the pedestal.

As it describes on their website:
"Due to clearance issues typical GM type 1/8″ NTP thermistor will not clear with the OE Banjo."

I am using the PLX Fluid Temp sensors installed in the 1/8" port next to the banjo bolt hole. Not sure if the PLX are GM type but did have some issues installing with the banjo bolt in place. I would suggest torquing down the temp probe first, to the point where you have a flat face of the hex on the probe facing the banjo, then installing the banjo. Otherwise, you will not be able to turn the temp probe at all with the banjo installed.
