93 13b dowel pin??

hey im new to the site but glad theres still love for the rotarys anyways ...like most rx7 owners i blew the frst wankel with only 8k miles on the motor ..my bad.... well my engine is getting built and i placed an order for it to get doweld pin because of some advise the builder gave me ..he said if im aming for high horsepower this was a must.. im shooting for solid 450+ with low 11s 1/4s so i guess thats high enough it cost and additional 400 to get it pinned.. is it worth it .. anyadvise would be great ...im very impressed by the knoledge of most of you own here...so any help would be greatly apreciated...

You don't need to dowel pin a 450 hp engine.
BTW: Who is your builder????

More like you don't NEED dowl pins but are nice if you plan on turning up the boost.

I can't think of one time I've heard of a streetcar breaking a casting on a REW motor. It happens all the time on s4 and s5 13bt's, though. I would say you don't need doweling on an REW until 600+rwhp.

But, for 400 bucks, it's not a bad idea, on any high power turbo motor.
