Now now, not in public please

Anybody know where to find a good deal on a light flywheel? 400 bucks seems a bit steep for something that simple!

Thanks

don't flame me for bein stupid, but i was told that a second gen flywheel was 9.5lbs and you could save a lot of money by just findin one in a junkyard, resurfacing it and throwin it in. is this correct?

I believe a second gen flywheel is 21 pounds. The FD flywheel is 19.

Don't forget that it's not just total weight, but also rotational inertia that's making for the change in behavior. In other words, it depends on how close the weight is to the center of the flywheel.

If you are getting a flywheel installed, what else would be a good thing to get done at the same time? I would assume the clutch.

I already have a centerforce clutch installed, and even though plenty of people think they aren't the best, I will keep it for a while.

Clutch, Pilot and T/O Bearings, Rear Main Seal, Tranny Input Shaft Seal (check the bearing too) and retorque the bolts on the rear rotor housing.

Let me add one thing. What about on a low mileage (12K) vs. moderate (50K) to high (100K) mileage vehicle?

And since the tranny is dropped, is it fuel filter time
