a wide band is an o2 sensor that hooks up to a AF gauge giving you accurate readings of your air/fuel ratio. No you can not tell afr's by the boost gauge. that only tells you boost. they have crappy AF guages but they are not too acurate. whats the point of having a guage if it only gives you a guesstamate, and by the time it scenced lean you'd probably be already blown up. that gauge would just stress you out more than anything.
