8 injectors? say what?

ok guys, i was watching the option rx7 special video again, there was the SCOOT wangan fd, it uses hks t51r single turbo and pulls 700+ps i think, and they uses 4x850cc injector in stock position, plus 4 extra 850cc injector !!! why do they use 8 850cc injector, instead of just using bigger say 1600cc injectors?
is there any special purpose to this? what do you guys think?

Smoother flow pattern, Randy. It's the same reason why most people take a shower with it spraying lots of small streams rather than a few large streams -- same amount of fluid, but smoother delivery.

So they don't have to have additional injector controllers. It's the most cost-effective way.
