8-5-7 boost pattern?

I know questions like this come up three or four times a week, but I thought I'd ask anyway since searching didn't help me.

I just got done changing out my metering oil pump. Took the car for a drive, and I'm now getting a 8-5-7 boost pattern, whereas before the repair I was getting something like a 11-8-11 pattern. I have a dp, mp, and stock catback.

To change out the MOP, I removed all the intake hoses, airbox, tb elbow, alternator, pressure tanks, and turbo actuators (wastegate and precontrol). I double checked all the hose connections that I can see, and everything looks all right. I remember putting all the vac hoses back on everything, but I guess there's a the possibility that I missed one.

Here are my guesses right now:
1) I have a boost leak? All my hose connections are tight, though.
2) I forgot to hook up all the vac hoses on the actuators. I really don't think I screwed this up.
3) I damaged an actuator when I took it out. Is this very likely?
4) I left off or pinched some other vac line during my reassembly.

Any ideas? If I damaged or forgot to hook up an actuator, wouldn't I still get 10 psi on the primary?

Thanks,
Paul

This is just an idea..if you dont have a boost leak, it seems that your wastegate is not being controlled to stay shut...assuming your pill is in the line into the wastegate actuator, check the lines going from the prespool or wastegate actuators to the 2 solenoids which control them..make sure they are not pinched..and then check the lines leaving the solenoids themselves ....these lines should vent to the atmoshphere thorugh the plastic elbow on the intake to the primary turbo. Make sure the solenoids can vent by pulling the lower hose on them and blowing through, to make sure no pressure develops. Just a thought.

...again, another boost pattern from sequential...I've done SO MUCH work on my car and still never had a boost issue with my non-sequential system...

...cooling however...of course, they're not related.

I knew someone was going to bring up nonseq! The thought has crossed my mind, but up until yesterday, I've had a good-running seq system, and I really like the low end punch. I'm staying seq if I can fix it without major problems.

Thats for the input Aristo. I'm gonna check out those lines. Thats kinda what I was thinking, a problem w/ the wastegate actuator.

Yes check for the pill... if thats not it... Check to see if the C clip is still on the actuator. If you hear a wooshing then the boost is not making its way to the motor, if it sounds like a normal turbo whine then its probably another issue.

pills are definately a great place to start. i second the actuator theory. it is a good place to start. the solenoid could be fokked up or the actuator could be off or not working. also, check and make sure that you have the wastegate and precontrol connectors in the right place. if they are backwards, it will limit your boost.

I fixed the problem with my boost pattern today. One of the vac hoses that went to my wastegate actuator was kinked. Now my car is fast again! I was getting a little worried when I had to give it about 1/2 throttle just to accelerate in 5th gear.
