The 500 Dolar Question........ on ti exhausts
I have been looking at cat back exhausts for some time now and i know that i want something that is ti. I am inbetween the jic and greddy pieces and was wandering what is the reason for the large diffrence in price between the greddy ti and other ti cat backs. It seems that the more I look into it that the really is not anything but name to justify the diffrence. Any one know any cons about the ti exhausets? any brand especially the greddy or jic. pro's too.

Not all of them are completely titanium. Some have have aluminum tubes, mounting bars and even the can itself and only the tip is Ti. The diameter can be different as well. You will have to check on all those for a real comparison. Weight should be about 8lbs (give or take 1lb) on a full Ti version with Ti piping. There are lots of other brands to choose from, so look for a sale price.
Are you track racing the car or you just like the cool factor? I admit I love titanium but I wouldn't buy an exhaust made from it for my Touring model. If you want light weight, try Buddy Club Spec III or IV if you want it quiet.

i dont care about loudness and i knew about the ones with stainless piping, as far as i can tell the greddy ti is all ti except for the muffler hanger which is stainless. please correct me if i am wrong i juat really want to know why the jic is 900 what ever and the greddy is like 5 or 600. and if the power gains are about the same between the 2.

If you read the magazine articles on headers and exhaust the diferences are from 1-5hp at the most and is done on a dyno, otherwise you would never notice. You should be more worried about quality, fitment (size of can ...if it's too large or too low it will scrape) and sound/loudness.

At the shop we installed the Greddy Ti on my bud alan's fd. Weighs like 9 pounds, looks very nice and sounds awesome with midpipe and downpipe. Nice and throaty, but not very loud, believe it or not. I give it two thumbs up

dude.. a grand for exhaust
thats ******* ludicrous.
find a highly recommended exhaust shop in your area, that does GOOD mandrel bent work.
buy a muffler,
a resonator or two,
and have them weld it all together.
cut that price in half for just as good stuff.

me 2 on that sound clip, the reason that i keep asking for some negitave info on the greddy ti is because all i have heard is good and i guess i think that it almost seems too good to be true.
