AT to 5-Speed Cost

I was wondering what the total cost for a 5-Speed tranny swap would end up being, parts only. And if anyone could tell me what the estimated labor costs would be on top of that, it would help.

It depends on where you buy the parts from. Don't know about labor.

You need:

5spd trans w/shifter, boots, clutch release fork
brake and clutch pedals
clutch master, slave and lines
Starter
driveshaft
diff (optional but the car will be a DOG with the auto diff)
flywheel and clutch assembly
ECU
speedo and tach (optional also)
Engine wiring is different, either replace with 5spd harness or modify the existing one (don't know how much work is involved here)

do a search for JR. He did a conversion a couple of months ago and it came out pretty sweet. It depends how you wanna go with the clutch and flywheel and all..but it can run somewhere btwn 2000-2500 w/ intsallation.

I had the same dilemna with my old auto. I was going to do the conversion as well but i ended up selling the car. I miss that car! It was prestine, but it was auto, and couldn;t be modded much. Now im in search of another mint FD

All the info on my conversion can be found here - http://jrx7.rx7life.com/auto5speedswap.htm

It realy depends on what kind of luck you have finding the used parts. Low side would be $1500 and high would be $2500. Then figure in at least $1000 for labor probably closer to $1500. So your final costs will be between $2500 and $4000, but you can make at least $500, probably more, back by selling off your old auto parts.
