And like you were afraid of in your original post.... GO BUY A SUBARU OR SOME OTHER AWD CAR!!!!!!!
It can be done, Rod Millen Motor Sport converted a 1st Gen into a 13B 4-wheel drive Pro Ralley car and won some against the Audi Quattros on the world arena (used front wheel drive Mazda 626 parts), later he did a 2nd gen 20B 4WD for Pike Peak racing. Can a 17 year old, without a race team, professional support and over $100,000 to do it well and safely, I doubt it?
If the issue is just driving on the street in the rain; spent a few thousand on driving school, or sell the car and get off the street.

The OP lives in England right? Its almost always rainy there, but not much snow, anyone with half a brain and decent tires should be able to drive an FD in rain. If it ever snows use your country's lovely public transit system. I don't think it'd be much fun to pilot an FD in snow unless it had GOOD tires for the job, mine came with the performance all season potenzas and couldnt drive up a driveway that was dusted with snow under its own power...
if you want to drive in the rain get some goodyear eagle F1s i could give it full throttle in the rain and not even spin, these tires are awesome in the rain and great on the street dont drag race a lot on them or they can glaze over,
but i autocrossed them in the rain and did well.
a awd fd would be cool for a rally car with thats it. rwd can out do with good suspension and a good driver

Just add some traccion control or get down the boost , and it should be not hard to drive it on rain , in the snow case , I have never drive mine in snow so I can not tell you eny recomendation , but i think tha it shuold be hard to drive it cause it have a suspencion for dry or wet but no snow , and there is too much power for snow too , even if it is 4wd.
Basicaly my recomdation is that if you can afford a EMS with trac control , you should buy it (AEM EMS) , and no go to 4wd
In case I know that the Subaru Impreza WRX 1995 gearbox can be fit with the RX7 engine , but i don know if someone have do that. I think that you need a car ho have the engine more in the front than the Rx-7. I know that you can install the 13B on a WRX 1995- 2000 and meaby you will have the perfect all season car.
