4w abs light is off when I start the car, goes ON when I drive

Any idea anyone? I'm about to order a new relay but shouldn't it comes ON when I start the car?

BTW if I key on/key off while driving, light goes away and won't come back. But ABS feels really strange at the brake pedal...

^This. Start the car, everything looks good. When you start driving, the ABS computer notices it's not getting a signal from a wheel sensor like it should and flags the light.

My car just did it, I dropped the rear end out and accidentally pulled too hard on the ABS sensor wires.

I installed the brack for the abs pump and crushed a wheel speed sensor under it.

Saw a few audi threads about fixing the broken wire on ABS speed sensors. Before you go ahead buy a new sensor, I'd isolate the ABS speed sensor, remove and try to fix the wire since half the threads I read about failed ABS sensors are due to split wires. Solder, heat shrink, insulating the wire and install to test. That'll probably be a $5-20 job compared to a $220 sensor. Unless the split is at the sensor, then your S.O.L. But of course, this is a very essential part of the car (braking) so do what you feel safest.
