400RWHP on the m2 twins...the saga continues! but not the way i expected (thanks xs)
Jason, my maps have been checked and they are pretty rich. They are rich all over the place, kinda weird according to DR. Ghetto Dave when he checked it, nevertheless it ran fine. I'm not bashing XS or defending them...I'm just saying what my experience with them has been like, I think they are pretty good but I'm sorry you didn't have such a good experience with them, hopefully gotham will cater to your needs.
Trust me, single is a looooot better than twins, I think you are making the right choice and you will be happy with them. However, if you are anti-lag, I think the RX6 or GT35/40 will be more suitable for you than the T62-1. Anyways, keep us posted as to your progress and how your car comes along. BTW, how is your old motor (the one with the Ianetti seals)? is there any part that is still salvageable? What are you planning to do different? Are you still going to use the same setup as before or use different seals? Keep us updated.

the old motor is fine it seems. there are some scratches but steve seems to think the only problem was that the ports could have been bigger and the ianettis were a bit damaged from running lean maps. fortunately the did not break....at all. or i'd be toast and would not be worrying about which turbo to have built.
yeah im glad i'm with gotham now. the amount of care is tremendous compared to some of the others I have dealt with in the past. though i was always happy with the effort RRR put into my machine. Part of the thing I like about the gotham crew is that they are a young shop and have fire in the belly to do things right and to succeed. they are keenly aware that strong customer service as well as mechanical service is necessary to being a success in the performance shop market. I only wish they would have had my car sooner.
steve seems to believe that I will have better response with the kit he wants to build for me than with the gt3540. I guess we shall see. I am hoping for a responsive machine. That is my intent.
I will be looking at pulling out all the stops for keeping as much low end throttle response as possible.
the rx6 was my choice before I went m2 for cali smog **** reasons. but the cost now is absolutely unreasonable for that turbo since they raised the price a grand or more.

Hah AG going single!!!
DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER!
Do you mean AG got to sit in a single-turbo car and realize that lag is nowhere near the issue that people made it out to be?

I cannot believe RRR sent you off an engine with 6s and felt okay about it.

this setup sure looks tastey...though it is on a different manifold than stock http://www.kgparts.com/R85.htm
check out that torque curve.
yeah i agree...im very disappointed that RRR sent me out the door with a half good motor...especially after all the good words I gave them and bizness too over the past few years. I sent dozens of third gen guys to them.
money cant buy integrity.

Trust me on this: Once you have the single setup for even just a week, you will forget about any extra responsiveness of the sequential twins.
This can only be more enjoyment for you.
Are the old seals completely unusable?

One thing about the RA Seals...I'm still waiting to break them... Maybe if I turn the boost up past 19 psi...

it's not a car, it's a religion....a time consuming and financially draining religion at that
I'll stay with my low tech Pettit ECU and 320 hp to the wheels, thank you very much....enough to smack down 99% of the street cars I bump into and I like my sequential twins just fine, just wish didn't have to deal with the "smoot" on the rear bumper every three months
getting 400 hp out of these little grenade motors just ain't worth the hassle....a V-8 is a far better solution if you have the means

I can't beleive your engine is apart again! Well, get the water jacket mod, eccentric shaft oil mod and Viton O-Rings. Oh, and some heat coating on the exhaust manifold and downpipe.

That's too bad, Jason. I hope both the shops you were involved with take a beating on this. Apexi should wake up and smell the ******* coffee in regards to XS Eng.
Good luck with your new setup. Hopefully everything will go OK with this setup!

he just looked at me for a second, and asked me why, and I replied, that I had seen / heard to many people come back with messed up setups, from Lean AFR's, to Negative split under boost, to 16 degrees of advance under WOT @ 7000 RPM.... how the engine held out during tuning is beyond me... but I wouldn't take anything mechanical to XS, I'm suprised they're still in business...
Jason .... sorry to hear about your problems again. Good luck with it this time around. If you knew how many problems Jason has had with XS you would give him a break and say that he is being nice.
Oh yeah, did you hear that Rich? He said you had fire in your belly's ... better than fire elsewhere yeah?

With all this AFR this and AFR that. You do know that ALL Air Fuel Meters read different Right? XS may use a Baileys and Gotham may use an FJO or Arebba or dyno jet. I mean there is no mention of what calibration of meters were used.

XS tuned too lean. Period. As noted in the thread, it's happened to several people, not just Jason.

There is only one "true" A/F ratio. Either a wideband reports it accurately or it doesn't. Please explain to me how two different PROPERLY FUNCTIONING AND CALIBRATED meters designed to read the same thing can have significantly different results.
