Arrow 400hp (350whp) Impossible on Twins?

Ya... i dont think so.

Gotta love ignorant people, I have my FD on Kijiji, as a feeler, i say the car can make 400hp with the stock twins. And then i get these e-mails from this guy Martin R, just like crucifying me, saying that its impossible for me to have a car with Monster ported engine, ported non-seq twins, and all supporting mods, to make 400hp (350whp)

I just thought id post up and see if im really that mis informed saying the car can make 350whp.

Anyways, just had to vent a bit. I hate people always busting into FS threads on here and bitching about the posters price or what have you. So ignorant, and just shows complete lack of respect. And it happening to me just pisses me off more. But i also learnt the chances of them having an plausible argument most of the time is very unlikely.

Well for sure, but 350whp (400hp) quite easy to attain with my mods.

Not really, it highly depends what dyno you go to. At a local dyno, my car made 330 rwhp @ 16 psi with BNR twins, big street port, FEED throttle body, ported LIM and UIM and 3" exhaust (racing beat catback). Granted I might have been able to make a little more if i had a canister exhaust but to say its easy as a general statement is inaccurate. My car made 370 rwhp at another dyno with nothing else changed.

It highly depends on what dyno you go to, if they do any corrections, how the dyno is calibrated etc.

i made 380 horses to the wheels on the stock twins (pump gas) with a DynoCom in-ground dyno. could probably make it to 400 (wheel) with more tuning and race fuel.

^ the point I was trying to stress is the number is meaningless

edit: unless your comparing between the exact same dyno (same physical machine) and even then weather conditions, and dyno calibrations changing comes into play

Ambient temps are a HUGE factor on dyno day, even if you correct to standard conditions. It seems like most people dyno in the middle of the summer which is the absolute worst time. Plus that the car sits there and heat soaks.

These cars make alot more power when it's cold out, and they're more reliable with cold ambient temps if you have solid boost control

There is a guy I know with a yellow Fd making 360whp on a dynapak. He has stock twins as well, my old twins. I think it has allot to do with the quality of the engine build. I would just tell the guy bugging you to go suck one.

There are many FDs making 350+ rwhp on the stock twins, even with a Pettit ECU

Take it to the track and look at trap speeds and I will tell you the power the car is making. The dyno is a safe way to tune a car and get a general idea of what is going on with a car. Dragstrip tells the story of the power a car makes.

+1 +1. I remember one track day (road coarse) where my street port with a 500R-SP running 16 PSi pulled on a half-bridge with a TO4something running 18+ PSi on a small straightaway. Supposedly his car had over 450 rwhp and mine 415 rwhp at a local dyno ^_^. Later when I told the guy I only had a street port, he looked dumbfounded. Our cars power was miles apart.

he changed his ad but it said 400rwhp and 450hp so I email him thinking you must have bnr or some but you have a shady jdm car with a ic dp mp cb and pfc and street port and cold air intake wow 15k in mods my do you even have a boost controler of ported wg your fuel system is stock. But mark you know everything about these car haha maybe because your rhd you get an extra 100hp. Mark come on out to the next rotary meet and stop hiding behind your key board.
BTW. Every on the board sorry for this just tired of kids getting ripped of by like this telling them 15g in mods and 400rwhp

the argument me and mark were having was that there is no way his car not other car’s. There is no way he will make 400rwhp on his mods then I said I love to see his car make 350rwhp on a dyno with out some crazy correction or like that end of story.

Ok martin. I am not hiding behind my keyboard. And yes I did spend 15k above the price on my 7. Who are you to say I haven't. I have one of the most clean 7s around especially when comparing Jdm cars.

Best of luck with your cousin and his search. And i wouldn't want my car going to a misinformed owner anyways.

I'm bored with this pissing contest. Op fails. Thread title misleading. I vote lock the thread. It's just another useless thread at this point.
