THE TAGRA TOP SEEMS EASIER AND ALOT NICER THAN A RAG TOP. I THINK THAT A COVERTABLE TOP WOULD RUIN THE LOOK. BUT IT IS A RESPECTABLE CUSTOM JOB.

A targa means that my girlfriends dream of hanging out of the roof, topless, going 100mph can finally come true... or maybe thats my dream...but either way the sunroof is holding her back.

Remove the sunroof and let her rip.

It would be possible...but at the sacrifice of some rigidity I'm sure, but the one thing I've learned at my friends body shop is that ANYTHING is possible...as for the removal of the sunroof...good call.

Sirs: I beg to differ! Not all convertibles suck. I get twice the attention when I drive the ghia than the FD.

Nice Ghia.

Verts serve there place. When I have had a bad day at the office there is nothing that cheers me up more then taking the top off of my 914 and going for a drive.

Well I had a brief stint of ownership with a BMW Z3 and I HATED it...mostly because of the convertible top. When it was up, it was noisy. Down, the sun beats on you like no one's business. Sure I got attention, but I felt like I was driving a thing that was about as safe as a Power Wheels car next to Mac trucks since it was just canvas between me and the world...

Hrm, if I were to make an FD into a convertable I would take the outside door handle and probably replace it with a Miata handle, as in on the door itself not above it.

But then again, you might as well buy a Miata and drop a 13BREW or a 13BMSP into it.

Ha, ha... I know what you mean, that is why I only drive it on mild days or at dusk.

And about feeling unsafe. I test drove a Z3 and let me tell you. Those things feel a hell of a lot safer than the ghia. The second thing people say when they get in is "you know if we crash were dead!" I reply "yeah but at least it will be a quick death. None of that linger in hospital for weeks ****"

BTW-thnx formerporscheguy
