Alright, so my 1992 RX-7 from japan 3rd gen finally arrived. Going to get it saftied but needs a new muffler forsure first. As far as I know, the whole exaust is screwed. So any recommendations REPLY ASAP(wanting to get it done this week). So far I have been told "I suggest going to competition muffler and get them to weld in 3" piping from the turbo back (I assume it is all rusted out of to there) and remove the cat for free power gain. Weld on a muffler (I have a perfect muffler for you brand new at my house if you want it, magnaflow chrome muffler with 3" inlet and single tip". Did some research and its this muffler

So that covers muffler. So I am going to call a compitition muffler place, and what do I all need to say? Just tell them that and weld a 3" tube on from the turbos/remove the cat (legal in my provice) and they will do what I need? Or do I need some special 3" tubing. Sorry somewhat new, and this is the coolest car in the world and I want it done properly. Thanks in Advance

get a high flow and remove the pre-cat.. straight pipping must be done properly or not at all on our cars. thats one thing i learned from these guys

Keep the stock main cat. I wouldn't suggest going with a high flow cat until you can control the boost.

They (people with years more experience than I have) say that you can get away with a high flow cat, but I am not trying to take risks.

Get a 3" downpipe, 3" cat-back and if your cat is trash, then get a replacement OEM cat. If you really want to, get a high flow cat, but don't get a midpipe.
