tonite my friend and i went to a car show downtown to check out the nice rides. we both drove our 3rd gens through the middle of the car show only to find out it was dominated by american muscle cars. We parked our cars and strolled through the show. When it was time to leave 30 minutes later, my buddies 3rd gen wouldnt start . it tried !!! but no go . We went to grab some dinner and came back about 1 1/2 later and she started right up. he said that it will do that from time to time when its warm so my question is why??? does it do this ? is it vapor lock? is there a fix for this problem ?? thanks greg

 

It can happen because the fuel rail is boiling hot and a surge of fuel gets into the chambers and fouls the plugs and takes away the oil film that makes compression. There does seem to be a time window for this to occur from about 20min to almost an hour. As soon as you crank and it doesn't start as normal, stop, then put your foot to the floor and crank for about 10 sec. then try normally, thats worked for me. When your cranking with your foot to the floor the fuel injectors are cut off. My wifes Mk3 Supra Turbo has awful hot start problems compared to my FD.
