It was the pulsation dampner and both of the primary injectors on mine that were leaking. The dampner was replaced and there was still bad gas smell. Repressurized the system and nothing.... Let it sit for about five minutes and gas eventually started spraying up into the air from both of the primaries!!
Turns out that both of the primaries were shot. Had to buy new ones. The RX-7 store had some great prices, but they said that the primaries were on a lengthly back order. Wound up buying them from RP for $199.00 each.

Sound word of advice previously mentioned by m_snoby:
"check and then re-check again" because it's a m*ther f**ker to keep on pulling the manifold, etc off..!!!!

old thread.. new question... my car burnt to a crisp today.. it would apear that it was not subject to the coolant recall... will mazda do anything about this or am i SOL?

sorry to hear. i can relate as my first fd (12 years ago) burnt to a crisp as well.

Honestly the easiest route is your insurance company. I would mazda can argue that it was owner neglect for not getting the recall done. Plus these cars 16-19 years old and one cant really expect the coolant system to be flawless.

oops sorry for my bad english... I sometimes miss words when I type on my phone for some reason
