3rd Gen Cali ECU vs. Non-Cali ECU

Anybody know what the difference would be? Does it make a difference in emissions and smog stuff? Do I have less capabilities HP wise? ...or does 255hp stock means 255 stock regardless of non-cali or a cali ECU.

My dilema. The original owner bought the car in Los Angeles and moved to Atlanta. Now, the car is with me in Atlanta. Anything I should be concerned about?

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

Not much but it's a start

I asked a similar question last week. I got one response which said the Cali ECU will run the EGR and others will not. I guess that means out of state cars don't have one but I'm not sure.

I'm thinking it makes no difference. Just drop in a DP and you'll have 265HP, K&N drop in filter - 27hp. Maybe the only difference is you get better gas ! Ours is only 91 octane.

Have fun
