3M clear sticker?

Any of you guys use the 3M clear sticker "stuff" (the stuff that come on some of the more expensive cars, i think. Well i know they come on Audi S4s) on your front bumpers etc. to protect from chips, scratches etc. from road debris?

I think it's very hard to get it off. So, it's pretty much 'permenant'. It's about $1k to have a pro do the whole front end I think. Ouch.

Yep, it's great for smooth flat areas, rocker panels, and other parts that might be susceptible to stone chips. It won't stay put on tight curves unless you cut "darts" in it. You can get several 11" X 14" sheets of it ordered from most motorcycle dealers, Factory Concepts is the brand - Part # FP25-121, Clear Vinyl sheets. Made by 3M.

For the front a bra is the only thing that will give you enough protection. If you go with the bra you need to take it off frequently, wash it (especially to get the dust off the INSIDE, wax, and reinstall. Make sure it fits TIGHT. It's a great idea to put a strip of the clear vinyl on your fenders from the hood seam to the wheel well where the edges of the bra contact. That way it will buff the vinyl and not your paint. Use a hairdryer to heat up the adhesive backing when you want to remove the vinyl and use 3M adhesive remover to get the residue off.

The stuff works pretty damn good. My friend has it on his car and threw his key chain at his hood and nothing happend. It can take a rock at 120 mph and not do anything.

Modern Image sells and installs the stuff. Yes it is not that easy to take off either. I mean It does come off but not like regular vinyl stickers.

I was going to do this to my street bumper but oh wells.
