300zx guys love our cars

I was on the 300zx forum today for the first time and I did a search for an rx7. I was expecting there to be a bunch of stuff about the cars being very comparable and even some guys saying the z was better...because I was on their forum. I was amazed to see so much praise of the FD over their. I got the feeling they liked our car better than their own. There was even a bit of comparison of FDs and Supras and most of those guys thought the FD was better. I got a big kick out of this.

I do too but I see a lot of them and many of them are not in nice shape anymore. I think they are faster than they usually get credit for too

I got up next to the last style 300ZX one night when I was in the old 7. I had Pettit Streetported engine with 3mm seals, bnr rebuilt turbo's, 3" back. I was untuned though at 7psi. He pulled up and wanted to run. I dropped a gear and we pulled through 4th and I barely got away from him...closest race ever in that car, remember I was untuned . I had a new respect for that car. Obviously turbo Z. With the right style and money, someone can make that car look right

I'd love to have a 240Z w/ L28 (280) engine and proper body mods.

I almost bought a 300zx turbo before i got the 7, I almost picked this 50k mile, 1990 twin turbo with perfect interior, 5 spd manual for like 4500 bucks. The only thing it needed was a paint job and it would habe been amazing. The lady ended up selling it to one of her friends instead though. I guess im kinda glad i didnt get it due to the fact i wouldnt own such an insane rx7 right now.

Yeah, the 300zx guys are really awsome, normally really humble and great guys to hang around.. Unlike the 240 guys, 99.9999% of honda people, and the newer 350z guys, and even alot of rx8 guys. Out of all the other car groups ive hung out around, I found the 300z guys to be the greatest to hang out with..

I also had a really good experience out here in Orlando with a few of the 300z guys. I went up to talk to them at a local meet and they quickly moved their z's right by us. Very cool night.

widebody2: What 300ZX forum? Was it twinturbo.net? Those were my stomping grounds when I had my '91 300ZX TT. Great guys over there who have an appreciation for all cars.
