300 degree temp gauge????

well i got my car back from the shop which sucks(jpr in lahabra) well i would like to list the problems that they were suppose to get fixed but didnt but that isnt what this thread is for. i have a defi temp gauge the d series i think. well it seemed to be working for the first 100 miles then out of nowhere it was like stuck at 30 degrees so i was like wtf but then it went back to its normal temps around 140. then out of nowhere when i pulled into staples to get school supplies it showed 300 going back and fourth to 240 i was like damnnn my car is hot. after i opened the hood i was like oh its not that hot something must be wrong with my gauge. when i went home and hte sensor seemed to be still pluged where it should be in the engine bay. i checkced the connections inside and both connectors were still pluged in. does anybody have any suggestions???

I am not an expert on the Defi system, but it sounds like you may have a bad/loose ground wire.

might be hard to find the actual wire because its intertwined through the whole engine bay. do you have any pictures or anything that can help me locate it?
