3 piece oem or atkin, bad oem coolant seals rumer??

k. i could get a mazda rebuild kit for dealer caust that has 3piece seals in it

or i can buy the atkins seal kit for more expencive and get there seals

what do you run in your fd?

also. i heard that there is a rumor of bad coolant seals. that alot of people who have rebuilt in the last 9 months have had coolant seal failure due to bad coolant seals.

It would be easier to help you if you formed a coherent question in your post.

If you are getting an engine rebuild, I would go with Mazda oem seals. If you want 3mm seals, the rotors will have to be (correctly) machined out for these wider seals. My builder doesn't see anything wrong with using the oem coolant seals, given that with a few mods, our cars run much cooler than they did from the factory.

EDIT -- wait, do you have a 13B-REW or a 13B?

i am putting a 13b rew into my fc.

but yeah. question being what people run. what people like better.

and i the fact that i have heard that some maker of coolant seals have made them a lil bit to wide so they have to much stress with the engine is torqued closed.

edit- and i dont think i'll be pushing more then 15-18 pounds of boost ever. i dont really care much to get more then 350 hp. i'll be happy at 250-300.

You can make 300 rwhp at 10-11 psi with the correct mods. Just stick with OEM seals, they work just fine.

so how bout the psi limit for these 3 piece seals.

i know they'll blow if you run lean and all. but beside that fact. whats the safe limit for these 3piece seals.
and in comparison to the 2 piece seals.

i dont want to be touching the limit to the seals ever. i aint playin that game with my lovely fc. and with my money lol
