2nd turbo

Alright, so I was having problems with my 2nd turbo. Basically it was getting really small boost, 3-4psi. So I brought it to the shop and he said that he replaced some hoses, vaccum lines, and cuplings and said that he drove it and he was getting full boost on the 2nd turbo now.

So I finally pick the car up and I don't really have any room to test it (it was busy hour on the road) but I was able to do 2nd gear and floor it a little to get into the 2nd turbo. Now I don't know, sometimes it would have full boost and sometimes it seemed as though it wasn't.

My question is, could it be me? Because when I usually drive, I've never gone into the 2nd turbos but I seem when I'm in the 2nd turbo I'm letting my foot off of the acceleration more than punching it. Could this be causing my 2nd turbo not giving any kind of boost?

I think this might be it, because it does to same thing on the first turbo. Say I was at full boost and I then slowly release my foot little by little and it makes that same sound and the boost drops.

Perhaps the problem with the second turbo is me? What I'm asking, does your foot have to be slammed to the floor in order to get full boost basically.

No, say if you're in 4th or 5th gear, it doens't take much throttle to push full boost at all. But on acceleration, in 1st or 2nd gear, you've got to put the pedal down pretty good to keep it boosting at higher rpms.

Try doing the "official" boost test. This will tell you if the turbos' are working properly. You do need a boost gauge if you don't already have one.

No, the turbos are fine, Paul at Rotorsport is the guy who I took the car too and he said turbos were in great condition. I'll drive it today when I'm in 3rd-4th gear on the freeway and see how things go.
