Question 2nd gen 5spd in 3rd gen??

A friend of mine has a 5-spd out of a 2nd gen he will give me? I plan repacing the auto when it goes out. Will this work????

The tailshaft housing does not have mounts for the 3rd gen powerplant frame. The clutch systems are also completely different. 3rd gen is a pull type while the 2nd gen is a push.

In short it won't work without a lot of work that isn't really worth it.
