Could a 20B intercooler be used as an aftermarket substitute for the 13B?

 

I have one on for now, but will probably use something bigger when get a bigger turbo. I'm only boosting 7lbs now, so it does the job.

 

I would not use the 20B cooler for your RX-7. Flow bench testing has found the FD RX-7 (92-02) intercooler flows around 310cfm. The JC Cosmo (90-95) intercooler flows just 280cfm. The 13B JC Cosmo version is even less.

Despite its small size, the FD cooler is one of the best flowing Japanese production car intercoolers getting around.

Thanks for the advice and info. I have seen some for sale fairly cheap and I thought that with the larger size, it would be better than the stock set up. I guess not. Better start saving for that two row then!!
