+1

Everytime i said the "b" word because i thought the motor was, it keeled over the next day. I'm never saying that word again

Ur FD looks insanely awesome though, why get rid of it for a lesser car? [/arrogant FD owner]

Your Fd looks great. I guess if I blew 2 engines in that amount of time I'd probably switch too. Good luck with the porsche. It's a sweet ride too!

Does ANYONE know what kind of side skirts are on that car, and where to get them?? They're clearly not FEED, similar, but thicker...

Hi Ari,

So you actually went ahead and bought the porsche. Good on ya my friend. This dude has put his heart and soul into the Fd. Going as far as paying tuners from overseas Australia, japan and even Malaysia to sort out his car. But like he said, the support for rotary is really non-existant in Indonesia. Ari, i hope you enjoy the new car and keep me updated on the stuff i'm picking up end of the month

That must be an awful weird V-mount with the battery and ast mounted behind the IC.

In my opinion these highly modified cars are exceeding the design limits of the engine. There is this thinking that if you add just the right amount of aftermarket parts and get someone to tune it correctly you're going to get both high horsepower and engine reliability / longevity. What you wind up with is a crapshoot.

I'll take just one thing. Looks at the little coolant passages in the FD engine block.
So you hang a big radiator out front and you increase the horsepower by 40%. Have you increased the size of those coolant passages any? What's the localized heating like in an engine designed to handle 255 - maybe 300 hp at the outer edge of the design envelope now putting out 350 or more?

Racing engines can put out high horsepower, but they don't last long either and are subject to frequent rebuilds. Owners should have reasonable expectations when it comes to the 3rd Generation RX-7. It's a great car for what it is, but you can stretch the performance envelope only so far if engine longevity and reliability is one of your goals.

I'll meet you at the end of the block so that porsche can get its 1st death! AHAHa!! Seriously rotaries need to be tuned right and monitored constantly so they dont kaboom. A pain but worth the effort. Sorry for the bad experience. Real nice looking one you got there. Good luck w/ the 4s.. They are sweet.G
