Unhappy 2,800 - 3,000rpm hesitation? ('93 rx7)

when I'm under light acceleration the car hesitates at around 2.8k - 3k rpms (no boost), but when I'm in light boost or WOT (full boost) it doesn't do it at all & drives fine?

kind bucks the whole car when it happens, scary....=O(

what do you guys think it could be?

It's called the '3k hesitation'. I think it's covered in the FAQ, and certainly on other threads and sites. It's annoying but harmless.

The solution for a stock ECU is to clean and/or upgrade your engine grounds, or simply use a standalone ECU like a PFC.

...my bucks too but only when headlights (!) are on and if it's cold out...stops though after car is fully warmed up. Gonna' get most of this and among other quirks fixed later next month...I hope.

sell the purple peter motor eater and buy a PFC. That system will only make the hesitation more pronounced. The Power FC gets rid of it.

I have the same problem add some ground points with a thick cable direct from negative pole and you will be ok.
Also check the main fuse box and clean the contacts from fuses.

And at least in my experience.....even with improved and additional grounds, it will still hesitate a little before it's fully warmed up on a stock ECU.
