Good luck with it...treat her right & she will pay you back many times over.

Yeah well im keeping the Passat as the ol Daily Driver. If you saw the amount of snow we have here right now. You would agree its good to have the 2nd car.

Yeah, I know what you mean since I live in the Connecticut hills at 1,200ft and also get my fair share of snow. I still use the Passat as a DD complete with snow tires. I let my kids pound on the Passat while I get exclusive use of the FD when the weather clears.

Dave, still got that drivers door pocket? Was that the 93 or 94-95 style? I can't tell the difference.
Yes, I do. And as soon as the weather breaks I'll get my FD inspected and tires changed.

FDs make decent project cars if there is no frame damage and the end result is a stripped race car. They suck for 'restoration' projects.

Dave, you're correct.

FDs are terrible restoration projects, which is why I'm building mine instead of returning it to stock. It's actually cheaper this way, and when the time comes, I'll be able to sell it off and get a stocker that will rarely leave my garage

Er, I've got a 93 touring and the panels are textured. I think that might be a touring thing because the touring models came with leather seats and they were trying to reproduce the look in the vinyl door panels. Just a thought.

Seems to be a lot of confusion here...I have a '95 PEP, original owner & only person on the title. I also have the original window sticker, owners manual & ECU. All of the VIN#s on my car match.
Here's the correct info: '95 VIN is 333, steel, not glass roof panel is ok for a '95 PEP, my interior is textured and I have leather seats. My ECU happens to be N3D8 for a non-cali 5-speed. BTW the plate on the driver door jamb will also give you a build date. Hope this helps-Bill

You're probably referring to your door panels, they are all like that.

He's referring to the gauge cluster hood, a/c surround piece, shifter surround piece, and the inserts in the interior of both driver and passenger doors.

To the OP, good luck with the car, post pics, and for God's sake don't put a damn camaro motor in a rotary-engined thoroughbred

Yep..I screwed up. "333" has nothing to do with the model year. You are correct in that 1995 FDs are identified by S04 immediately before the serial number. The other info I posted is correct.
