19lbs of boost/stock turbos/safe?
I have been informed that 19lbs is the most you can go with out burning the stockers up and also being a consistant boost presure.....ANY DISAGREE????

Evil7,
Even if you could make your stock turbos boost to 19 lbs. consistently, in that range you are way out of your turbos' efficiency range. You'll essentially be blowing lots of hot air with only marginal performance increases.

So my question is, who has actually tried running that high of a pressure on the stock twins and how do you know it is beyond their efficiency range? This is one of those things I wonder if anybody really knows or if they just keep repeating what they heard from somebody else.

There was a fellow on the forum a while back that was running some INSANE quarter mile times on the stock twins - like nearly breaking into the 10's.
I do know of people running high boost on stock twins consistently and having MAJOR reliablility problems - smoking, bearings dying, even the shaft snapping. If it's spinning at that high of an RPM where it has mechanical difficulty, it's definitely beyond the design spec for the amount of air the compressor can properly handle.

i have seen 1.2-1.5bar on my stock twins but that was a long time ago. this was only in 2nd though and when i just got my car and yes it was to redline. 3rd gear showed 1.5bar by 5krpm and i would let off . i have since turned down boost to a nice/stock 10psi and was actually able to get 10-8-10psi boost pattern now. in anycase, both my super afc (i know it reads off the stock map sensor and yes i know that the stock 2bar sensor only reads accuratly up to 17psi) and my greddy boost gauge said the same thing. not sure if they can both be off at the same time. in any case, my car is running very nicely right now except for the craptastic tranny (5gear is gone and others sometimes grind if shift fast, note: i bought the car like this previous owners could not drive very well i guess or just dragged the **** out of it) and brakes (god i have to really blead them well and get new brake pads, i can come to a stop from 60mph with in the lenght of a intersection but i think it could be better).

Well,I know my engine is not going to blow, it is STREET-PORTED and has 3mm apex seals,on top of that I have a Power-FC stand alone and all the other goody's to go with it,just read my GARAGE and tell me what type of PASS i should make on the stock twins"I DONT PLAN ON KEEPING THEM LONG ANY-WAY",LOL...If I end up running them like that Iwill be sure to get it on video for all to see...

People have run the stockers at 17 PSI.

PowerFC w/OEM map sensor is good for 17-17.5psi before it maxes.
I personally ran 18-19psi and the twins(non-seq) lasted much longer then everyones opinions !!!! I did break the shaft once trying 20psi !!!!d the limit
I would recommend 17 psi being the limit for them to last....I ran them at 17psi for over a year before cranking it up.
For those non-believers check out the following videos.....
I guess I proved a few of you wrong.

The turbos are out of their efficiency range if after a 3rd/4th gear pull or two you notice your intake temperature rise by a few degrees C on your Power FC.
