(1992 Skyline GTR trade) worth it or not?
There are many variables in this decision...
Much more comes in to play than year and mileage. If you took the time give a mod list and pictures of both, than others may be able to help you. Otherwise, it's a silly question....

Dont do it. The skylines here in Australia are a dime a dozen, and I've driven quite a few. They are not special. He wants to trade you because hes going to gain getting the FD. You will be unsatisfied going to the skyline. They are not on the same page as the FD.
Case in point, an R32 to R34 skyline sells starting at 6000.00 here, and only kids with hoodies and tattoos drive them in bad areas. An FD goes for 20,000 to 38,000 Australian. Big difference. Dont rip yourself off.

I personally wouldn't as I think the FD was a little more advance for the day. However, "stock for stock" or mileage doesn't really mean ****....condition of the car and it's components is everything. I wouldn't trade a FD for a Lamborghini if the thing was beat to **** and falling apart.
Inspection is key if you are considering it.

this is a biased questions , to me the FD was the car for me . you could put a ferarri next to me and I wouldn't be jealous.
you should think about it this way if both cars are equal in maintenance Then which one gives you that Tingly sensation in your groin

What are your ultimate goals?
Have you driven a GTR?
If it's your cup of tea, than of course, trade! But if you are on the fence, I would do some more research and see if you would regret the decision.
Like others have said, there isn't a car for me that holds a candle to the FD. I'm sure many GTR owners feel the same way though. Personal preference goes a long way.
If you just want "a fast car" then I would ditch the FD. It will disappoint you, break you, and take all of your money. You will be wondering why you stayed broke for the thing.
the other guy knows he WANTS a rx7
I'd assume there are more FD RX7s then R32 GTRs in the US so I'd say do it. In the future when you have more funds you can buy another RX7 so you'll have 2 great cars in your garage.
pretty sure the R32 is really close to being able to the imported by the 25 and older rule to the US... Federally legal
so once the market is saturated with skylines you may loose.
OR there will be a huge demand for R32s and might can turn a profit.
your gamble.

I already have to do that in my rhd fd. I'm going to drive the gtr and I will see from there. In a few months you can import 89 gtr so I might just buy one soon and keep my fd. What do you guys think about the z32 tt nissan?
oh I see, in that case you will need to have both :-p I see it all the time with friends in the Uk, they sell the fd to get an gtr, after 6 months they miss the fd and want one again.
Z32tt not worth it, too difficult to work on the engine and too heavy.

like every nissan after, it looks like a whale, and is heavier than the whale too. its harder to work on than the FD is, the engine bay is tighter if you can believe that.
although the people that have the Z's do really like them
