180km cut off . Governor

Can anyone help me ??

have a 92 batty , pretty stock . Cuts out at 180km . Its a Jap spec, these do have a governor on it , Have been told and read some threads that its just a simple cut of a while behind the dash . But have yet to come across any detailed info .
If anyone can shed some light it would be greatfully appreciated

I would imagine it's an ECU thing, but since we don't have that problem stateside, and I've never really heard about it I couldn't tell you sorry.

Power FC or a Haltech will sort that out.

I bought a 97 jspec engine and used the ECU that came with it and I had the same problem. IOW it's definitely the ECU.

Other than the speed limiter problem I liked the ECU. It had zero hesitation problems which is a first for me on a stock ecu.

Why would you want to go above 180 anyway? You lose your license above 150 with our current laws

Annnyway... There's a wire to clip in the ECU, which is located in the passengers footwell not behind the dash.
If you're in Auckland, I might be able to help you out.
