170mA battery drain when key out....
hi all
new to me 1992 silver JDM FD is acting weird and flattening it's battery
1) car sat for 2 weeks awaiting rego after i bought it
2) battery totally flat needed to jump start from other car
3) once car started and given a run engine didn't stop when turbo-timer timed out.
had to pull the turbo-timer plug under the steering column to shut down car
4) little orange ignition/key illumination light never seems to time out, always on...
5) when i put an ammeter between the battery -ve and car body i notice a current draw of around 170mA
should be pretty easy to find when i get some quality time with the car
will start with removing turbotimer
any other pointers?

Pull fuses one by one while watching current draw to help pinpoint the problem.
One of my speakers shorted out after I installed some aftermarket speakers. I think it blew one of the fuses. I replaced the fuse and fixed the speaker terminals so it wouldn't happen again. The radio seemed to work fine after that. But my car started draining batteries. Eventually I upgraded the head unit and the problem went away. It seems that shorting the speaker created some kind of short in the stock head unit.

I was having the same problem as #4. I noticed that if I lock the doors using the key, then orange key illumination light turns off. I haven't had the time to start looking into the problem but my battery has been fine now and not going dead on me like it was.
pulled all the fuses and couldn't find the source of the current drain but then when i pulled the green D2? relay it stopped, in the engine bay it stopped (was a few weeks ago now and i forget...)
pulled out the radio too and put everything back together and now have no problems, little orange key light goes off by itself around 20sec after coming on, could it have been the radio?
