ok im 17 and im in the market for a new car, i was thinking of a mk4 or a trans am or a fc, im looking for a care to take some pride and, i want it to be worth the meticulous care. The question im asking is, is the fc a good car for someone under 18, I like the fc but will the car turn into a huge moneypit... i dont mind it being a money pit for mods but i mean will it be a money pit for repair

I would say wait a bit.. get something like a Honda/acura to beat around in for a couple years. Lets face it, I know its deniable as a matter of pride but you're still a young driver and, statistically, its not a question of whether or not you will make a mistake to **** up your car, but more a matter of when. Make your mistakes and learning experiences in something more easily expendable/replaceable.
(I'm a perfect example..) When I was 19-20 I was coming home from Kung Fu one night in my Prelude, I decided to run this cat next to me. I beat him but there was another car in my lane going about 30mph slower than me, had to cut infront of the guy I was running to avoid the car in my lane. I caught my back left tire in a crack in the road, pulling the *** end of my car off the road, I corrected (a little too much) and re-corrected (goin about 85-90mph at this point mind you). I basically ended up doing a 1080 degree spin in the middle of the highway before bouncing off a cement wall. Luckily I was spinning the correct direction and I pretty much just rolled off the wall, spending all the gathered force in the roll. I could have very easily totalled the car (if I didnt die) in this little experience. I was lucky that all I had to do was pick my bumper up off the ground, re-attach the turn signals and put the damn thing back in place before limping the car home. Moral of the story, hold off for a couple years of driving before getting a fast car that's this rare.. get an RSX-S or a SRT-4 if you want something to go fast and pull tail in for now. As it is, I'm now 23 and just looking to get one.. I still have the Prelude (damn thing's a trooper!~) and its still running fine.
I would say hold off a couple years, and do alot more research before trying to tackle an RX-7.
