1600cc injector resistor question.. need help ASAP!~

ok, so i did the ohm's test on the injecotrs that i have and i got 4.8 now what i need idealy would be a 3 ohm 25 watt at 1% resistor to keep it under 2 so the injector driver doesnt get burned.. so i went to order it from Mouser and they are on back order for 10 weeks!!! i have to tune in 4!! so, i was wondering if i have some other options and what the negitives would be for that?

ok,

so i have 4.8 ohm now.. i need to keep it under 2. so lets say i use a 3 ohm resistor which gives me 4.8+3=7.8 then divided by 12 (for volts) i get 1.54 ..... the point is that they dont have that resistor for now.. so can i use a 4 or 5 ohm one?? the 4 will drop it to 1.36 and the 5 will drop it to 1.22

what i was wondering is why people dont use a 2 ohm resistor?? it gives you 1.76... is that too close?? are you suppose to get close to the 2 or far from it?? i need help on that!!

If these are the standard 1600cc injectors everyone else uses why not just use the same resistor aswell. If they differ please exclude my comment.

well if you are saying they are just like everyone elses 1600cc injectors you can get them at Radio Shack if not other local electronic stores in your area. Thats where i got mine.

The lower the watts the hotter the resistor gets . I use the bigger ones built with a heatsink base also . For your tuning get the smaller watt resistor and mount them inside the car out of the heat . Replace them when the better ones get to you . I may have the ones ARI at RP sent me with the 1680cc injectors . I could send them out . They are marked TMC-25 3 ohm 1% . ( 2 each )

The clips that fit are for Bosch injectors .Some FORD trucks have the clips, that is where mine came from . Just use the resistors ,3ohm 25 watt 1 % . Mine screw down with a heatsink base and are gold color .

Do not put them in the engine comparment, because of heat , dirt ,vibrations .Put them on a metal plate and wire them near the computor behind the kick panel . Mine are wired so I can swap injectors , high or low imp and remove the resistors with ease .

do you have a pic or something... Thanks! i really like this idea but that wire where the ecu connects is very tight and short already! and when i want to install a datalogic on the computer, it moves so wont it break loose? btw, which wires are they????

Thanks!

what risk is involved with not installing resistors for the 1600s?

this has not been proven because there are people running them with no resistors but its belived that it will burn out your injector driver on the ecu thus making your ecu non-useable... this is how i figure, its a $5 part, thats nothing big so why take the chance??? if you still choose not to thats fine but why risk it??

The wires to splice to the resistors are in the ECU 26 pin connector bottom row on one end side by side . Front secondary injector is pin 4x ,wire color is light green with white tracer . Rear secondary injector is pin 4z on the end ,color is light green .

Funny I saw that and bought those...but maybe it isnt enough so 25's seems to be a safer choice.
