1600cc injector myth

Now we've bought a couple of kits from the USA (from rx7club.com sponsors no less!), secondary rail, 1600cc secondaries, other the misc bits and pieces. They all seem to come with the same injectors.

But the secondaries started to struggle at 380rwkw on the dyno, so didnt push them any higher.
They should be able to flow a lot more than that though, so decided to have them independantly flow tested.

Results were:
Injector 1: ~1300cc (20,000km)
Injector 2: ~1280cc (20,000km)
Injector 3: ~1300cc (Brand new)
Injector 4: ~1300cc (Brand new)

Now thats nowhere near the 'claimed' 160lb/hr / 1600cc / 1680cc rating that these are sold to us as...

These injectors have light grey tops, and are sometimes passed off as 'indy blues' and go by the part numbers:
Ford # XL3E-C9A
Bosch # 280 150 846
(A couple of the injectors had even had the part numbers scrubbed out with a hot soldering iron!! )

After talking to the tester, we tried some REAL 'indy blues' (Bosch part# 280 150 842) and have a light blue top on them.

These flowed 1515cc, and appear to be Bosch's biggest readily available injector (bosch.com.au).
Will be headed back to the dyno with some of these and push well over that 400rwkw mark.
