13b-re vs. 13b-rew waterpump

I'd like to know if the 13b-rew waterpump is the same than a 13b-re waterpump, because I am looking at an upgraded waterpump that could fit my 13b-re set-up.

That info would be greatly appreciated.

I *THINK* the RE uses a water pump setup closer to the FC. If so, it wouldn't work.

The 13B-REW water pump turns backwards to previous RX-7 water pumps. The back of the alternator/airpump/water pump belt turns the water pump. In the FC, the main part of the belt engages the water pump.

Won't work. RE pump turns the other direction. You'd need to swap the entire front cover and everything that goes with it.

If you're looking for a better water pump buy the Mazmart water pump. It's a much better design and won't cavitate at high rpm like the stock one. If you do install the Mazmart pump don't install a underdrive pulley on it.

The pump itself cannot be swapped, however if you change out the pump and housing assembly you can install the FC or FD. For either setup the pulleys need to be reconfigured.

We have the S4 FC water pump on our 13b-Re and the FD water pump on our 20B, which uses a similar setup to the 13b-re

Do you happen to have any close up pics of how the fuel lines are run on the white 13B RE?

That's exactly what I want to do, and why I asked if it would fit. I want to keep the FC A/C so will it be possible with either water pump set-up?

So I don't have to change the front cover? I just need to find a complete FD water pump with it's housing assembly?

The front cover does not need to be changed. Both engines above have the FC/Cosmo style CAS.
