1300cc injectors issue ('s)
Recently installed a set of RC 1300cc secondary injectors. Car ran ok for two days
or about 50 miles then quit running about a mile from my house. Xavier from the RX7 Store (who has been very helpfull by the way) seemed to think I may not have the injectors in all the way allowing fuel to flow past the o-rings. After a couple of re-installs and very close inspections I was unable to visually see anything wrong, but man does it fill up with gas when this problem occurs. The day the car quit running a mile from home I was in 3rd gear about 3,000 rpm or so and the car just shut off like the key was off, but I am sure the plugs got soaked with gasoline. I reinstalled the OEM 850cc injectors and drove the car for
days with no problem. The RC injectors did have some kind of serious green vitron silicone o-rings, only difference I could see visually so I did try some new OEM black o-rings, no luck. I have all the gas out of the engine and am letting the rest drip from the exhaust manifold and surrounding area. I recovered about a quart of gasoline in a pan. I also drained the oil, looked like there was gas in it. Should I just send the injectors back to RC or am I missing something. I could take this entire car apart and put it back together ( and nearly have ) so I am really starting to thing there is a problem with the injectors? I purchased them from the RX7 Store so I am not worried about that part because I know they will take care of it, but I am just a little curious if alot of others have experienced anything like this. The good news is I have made several improvements and upgrades since this started, easy to do with an FD. Any ideas, suggestions?

1300cc injectors are just modified OEM 850cc secondaries. It sounds like you have one or both of them sticking open. Send them back and get new ones. Modified stock injectors have been known to have issues, some people get lucky and never have problems, others have problems right out of the box (like yourself).
Just making sure that you do have a PFC and have adjusted the secondary injector size to 1300, correct?

Good idea to get wire the injectors to a battery to ensure they give a strong audible clicking noise.
I've seen many many cleaned/flowtested/rebuilt/upgraded injectors clogged (and thus not functioning correctly) upon installation.

Im running these injectors as well, my car fowls plugs but only at WOT, not criusing around. Im guessing its probly related to the tune though. But if its common for these injectors to have problems i will definetely convert back to the regular 850's to avoid the possibilty in the future. Please post info on your experience for anyone who is running these injectors. Thanks!
